Just go out and buy a VN/VP 3.8 V6 factory V6 without worry of modification cert...If your VK isnt already a factory 6cyl then you already have to have a mod cert for the conversion..Plenty of low km/good condition vn/vp commadore,s on the market.. we pick them up over here for $1000-$1500 with reg&wof(roadworthy)
Floor it and swerve driving skool
this has been discussed in depth recently and the outcom was that you couldnt drive a V6 in a VB-VK anyway cos' it falls under modification restrictions.
and why do you not need reg and rwc? if its going to be a paddock basher, then there are much better engines that V6 and holden V8, i.e. chev.
??? the answer to your question is "you cant drive a modded engine vehicle on your p's" its factory options only.
so that in mind, if you must have a v6 then do as NZK308 suggested and get a VN/VP
STOP!!!it requires a mod slip, aka, engineering cert so you can't have that on your p's without applying for an exemption. you cant even legally have racing seats because the rail that you mod to put it in are not ADR approved so that needs engineering
didnt vk come out with a 5speed?
you sure, im pretty sure there was the trimatic and a 4 speed manual.
hold the phone, there was a 5 speed as well, my bad..lol
yeah vk 6's come out with manuals, my brother has the conversion up for sale here somewhere or SC forums...
Campbelltown
-Everything needed, pedals, tailshaft, clutch, flywheel etc $400 firm
Remember if you go Vp or VN it will have plenty of km on it already due to the age of the engine etc. My opinion stick with the Vt Vx or VY models.
