Ok, I have been throwing many ideas around lately and I have decided that I am going to drop a 304 5ltr out of a VR or VS (Due to the fact I may stroke it to 355 later on). I have a few questions, What would be the best gearbox for the job? I was looking at the trimatic 3 speed but then I wouldn't mind a 4 speed. I plan to use it as a streeter/burnout car, Aiming for 250kw. For the diff a VL turbo diff would do a good job? I want a spool and 3.9 diff gears, Would I need to strengthen it in anyway?
Does this list of parts sound right for what I need?
-Engine
-Gearbox
-Radiator
-Diff
-ECU
-Wiring Loom
Cheers.
is it V8 already? if so the diff will be fine. i believe trimatics dont fit to VR blocks cos' they are turbo pattern, but am willing to be corrected. anyways, you may as well put the t700 on it. you will need an O2 sensor so chuck exhaust on your list of things to get. and go with the stock VR alternator cos' VH's 60 amp jobbie will not cut the mustard. and a tailshaft to suit whatever box you go.
if its not V8 then add front springs, diff, engine mounts and trans mounts.
