hey guys,
currently restoring a vh ss that a young bloke had bastersised the sh*t out of.
taking it back to original, and there's alot of miss-matched parts with the car.
it's standard white, 308, manual, and Claret (burgandy) colour.
I need pictures of, original shift knob, shift boot, boot area (i'm not sure if the carpet goes all the way up the boot including the back of the seats, or just the lower floor area)
radio, speakers - or anyone know the make/model of them and was there speakers front and rear?
thats it so far, will update if i can think of any more.
cheers Ben.
im sure that vh ss's had a stroked 253 with an aussie 4speed gbox as standard
if you are just restoring it to base SS spec (not the HDT variants) the boot didn't have carpet. Just the rubber mat. Gear knob was the same as any other factory 4 speed VH.
My SS had a factory looking tape radio/tape deck. As for speakers, just the factory single speaker in the top/centre of the dash (if optioned with radio). Not sure about rears, there were already a pair of aftermarket speakers in the rear deck when I bought mine.
308 was optioned.

i def would have got the optioned 308 253's are gutless as are standard 308's
Hey mate, I've got an all original white 83 308 manual SS, with original radio, speakers, gear knob etc etc.
If you need any pics at all of it, pipe me your email addy and i'll take em and send em to ya.
darren l,
the boot of mine has carpert. it''s claret colour.
as for engine it's blue 308.
did any of them come out with 5spd manuals?
oh, and its a Eurovox radio/cassette player, with Pioneer speakers in the front foot well and rear parcel shelf. Got the original manual if you wanna go as far as model number...
The HDT cars certainly had the 5-speed option, dont know about the bog stock.
Mines a blue 308, black rubber matting in the boot.
yeh well mine has a 5spd in it. blue 308 and factory irmschers. but it hasnt got all spoilers and that.
5 speeds weren't an option, that was in the VK run. Only way a VH SS got a 5 speed, specially HDT, is when it went back for it.
Lo rolla, yours maybe a VH SS Group 3 if it has factory Irmschers, the Holden SS only got Chevirot rims.

sl/enut,
did any on the grp 1, 2, or 3's come witchout the spoilers, and scoop? because mine just looks luike a ss, but 5spd (factory) and irmschers. i know it deffently a ss because of the xv2 code.
Usually the Group 1 had no body kit. The Group 2 only had a minor kit. Group 3 had the hole kit.
Whats on the build plate for transmission, M21?

the cars at home (at missus house) but yeah, m21 i'm pritty sure.
but, correct me if im wrong, the hdt models that had 5spd still had m21 stamped on the plates, yeah?
Yep build plate does but, on the build papers would state 5 speed option. If yours is just Holden VH SS, its not factory 5 speed. Even the HDT VH SS Grp 3 never ever had 5 speed option. That was only in the VK run.
