202 rebuild

As the title says, just woundering if anyone knows how much to0 rebuild a 202efi for my calais with mild work done to it, an is it worth it as id rather keep the 202 for now ?

Are you doing the work or paying someone to do it?
anywhere from $2200 up but it depends on what you do

Hi Jamie,

I think ill be a good reference to your question as i just did up my VK black 202, but not too crazy though and i got a pro mechanic to do it for me, as i too dont have time.

I had the following done:

- Converted engine to use unleaded
- Head work
- Mild cam
- Replaced valves, rockers, etc. to match unleaded conversion and bigger cam
- Recondition varajet carby
- Extractors
- 2.25 inch exhaust wit resonator and high flow muffler
- K&N Air filter

Cost me all up: $3500. Which i thought was quite a good price.

I have a lot more power bottom and top end, only prob at the moment is it is running a bit rich and I am consuming way too much petrol. So getting that looked at asap.

Before it was running rich, it was only using a fraction more petrol, so still pretty efficient, but way more fun to drive and i use the car for work and play.

thats not a bad price. mine runs on unleaded already. prob didnt but dose now the bloke i got it off said thats wot it ran on. but 3500 isnt bad plus sooner or later i want to go gas as well
