Howdy All...
My Power Steering pump has been leaking for weeks and finally has decided to call it a day. Sounds like its trying to give birth to a bucket of rocks and bolts.
I guess I'm kidding myself if I think I can just put a kit through it and save it?
Also, what, if any, other model Commie PSPs will replace it?
Can't buy new this close to Xmas, so looking at wreckers or Ebay.
Cheers!
Any VH or VK will do the job. As I understand it they are the same - six cyl that is. VB / VC had the older type (rounded top not sure of name) but all the racks are the same (as far as I know). VL onwards are differnent for sixes.
You shouldn't have any problem picking one up from a wrecker but then you don't always know how much work the unit has done. Depending on the problem a kit may get you out of trouble but not always! Rare Spares (American Autos) should stock a new one, if not Holden? Give it a go.

what died on it exactly? as far as i was aware the pumps were the strongest point of the whole steering setup (willing to be corrected)
Thanks Derek.
As far as I can tell ari, the bearings have had a enough and the noise/grinding increases with revs.
I threw a fan belt months ago and tightened the Power Steering belt too much when I "road-side rescued" it.
I learnt from my mistake, once again.
I got one on Ebay.
Should have it in on the weekend.
Thanks all.
