can you get an oil press reading from the stock oil press sender thats in the engine or do i have to use the one that comes with the gauge? (its electronic)
i did put the brand new one in that came with the gauge but snapped the bigger
inseart in side the engine.. i got it out though and just put original one back in for now and
wired it up but soon as i start the car the gauge goes to the big fat 0 mark..

um, there is only one sender which is on the pump (bear with me cos' 6's are not my specialty) i dont know what second one you are talking about, you sure its not just a temp sensor? you can get a reading from the sender without you oil pressure guage with a multimeter. basically with the car running you hold neg term of multimeter to the body of the sender and pos term to the little clip bit and the resistance is your pressure reading. i think the resistance readings are on this forum somewhere.
edit* ah i get it, you got a sender with your gauge and you broke the sender? if thats the case it sounds like the sender might be specific to the gauge. if the resistance readings are higher or lower, or if they use 0-12V for a reading then ou will need to get a new sender to suit the gauge.
cheers for the help. i got the sender fixed.. it was the brass insert witch makes the thread bigger.. got the specialized one in the engine now with the press gauge. it reads around 20 on idle and around 40 when flat out.
yeah oil sender is near the oil pump and filter on my car.
