I also need a alloy radiator, any suggestions?

I paid 500 for the car with 120 on the odo with an immaculate interiour but a neglected engine.

Any advice would be much appericated.

GEEZ that reminds me of my old VH!
    stock VH SL 3.3L auto.
    'torquay sand' paint
dark brown/beige vinyl interior with the SAME seat covers!!! LOL!

I've still got pictures of the car after I dropped in a warm 308, with T5, suspension & Walkinshaw wheels. Your car certainly brings back some fond memories!

Mine turned out really well - I ended up selling it after owning it for about 15 years, as the paint was getting really thin and the cancer was breaking out. Was going to cost too much to fix, so I bought a VH SS and swapped all the good bits from the SL into the SS and then sold the SL with the buggered SS engine, M21, wheels & suspension. Was sad to see her go though..

My advice is to fit up a T5, they are a current gearbox and there are plenty of conversion kits around. I'm in Qld so can't help you with who can do the conversion, but speak to these guys about the conversion kits available. http://www.rodshop.com.au/ As for alloy radiator, any reason you are chasing an alloy radiator in particular. Copper is actually a better heat conductor than aluminium. The only reason aluminium is used is for weight reduction, which IMO isn't worth the extra cost. But if you are set on the idea, might pay to check out these guys http://www.aussiedesertcooler.com.au/

All the best with it mate.

Thanks for the advice darren, i will deff look into those sites and see how much things are going to cost.

The reason i said aluminium is basically because i dident know any better and im probally a bit uneducated on the subject but im here to learn lol.

Im hoping to get at least 150hp but if i got 200 that would be very nice but im not sure how achievale that is going to be.

im not getting the car for a few weeks but ill update pics and work progresses.

thanks again for the advice really appericate it

mate! green and white plates, spotless interior. looks like you got a winner there lol@ getting 200 HP out of an old 202 but good luck tho.

alloy rads look cool, but are really unnecesary. go with desert coolers as suggested, the do a setup called a "triple bypass" where the re-channel the water to go up and down the rad three times so it stays in there longer and works much better. i have heard of a guy (not sure if i believe this story, but just passing it on) with a stock 327 impala and runs a triple bypass on a 4 core radiator and doesnt run a fan. at all, as in no clutch/thermo/flex fan.

anyways, please dont molest the outside of your car too much. and NO monsta tachos!!! lol she is a sweet ride and deserves your respect.

yea its not a bad buy, these photos dont do the interiour justice it looks much better when you reali see it. I got a quote on a tripple core radiator for 550. they do look pretty nice but performance is more important.

I'll look into what you said and get a few more prices, thanks for the advice.

Wont be getting the car till mid jan but ill upload some pics when work starts.
