if it's already got a k-frame to suit a VN-VR V6, then Ecotec should bolt straight in, but it's probably easier to run a VN/VP engine as the ECM setup is a lot simpler

i want to put the eco tech in because i have a mean 4.2l vt that runs low 14s and in a lighter bodie with a bit more work it should be a hell of alot quicker and more fun. im just not sure if it would wire and bolt the same as the buick thats in it

The ecotec wil bolt in now worries. Would you just not transfer the engine box and looms across from the donor car. I think you will need to deactivate the security system. There are companies that can modify your BCM or you can get an add on black box from V6 Conversions to override it.

I used a VP loom and ECM with my VR V6 to get around the security system. I am not sure that the ecotec is compatible with the earlier model loom.

I too would like to know cause I might upgrade to an ecotec in the future.

half the work is already done and it would go well with the stroker in it. just redo the wiring to suit the ecotech.
