I thought 2002 was a slightly different block. the cams are definately different.
186, 161 and 149 are the same. Put a 149 head on a 186 and you could have some fun.

A 186 head wont fit a 202 blue or black block(the bolts line up but the water jackets dont)It will fit a 202 red but theres no differents between the two except the the 186 head has older style rocker gear.

I also though the 186 used a solid cam and lifters/adjustible rocker gear where the 202 used hydrolic
Floor it and swerve driving skool

I think you can put a 173 head on a 202 to increase the compression ratio, which may be what you're after.

external stuff: tripple side draft carbies
Remove Power steering (if you have it) dont need it on a VH because it takes power to run the pump.... <----this ones pure theroy by the way
    Thermo fan
    and good set of extractors

    Internal:
    Bore out the cylinders
    Deck the head
    Oversize valves
    Wild cam
    Solid lifters
    Roller Rockers
    Performace Valve Springs.

In Brockys A30 Runing a holden six it could squeeze out 185kw, just some figures to run with

Black 202 block and head, red 202 steel crank, starfire rods, yella terra rockers, stainless valves, ACL HQ racing pistons, hardened pushrods, big lumpy cam.

That'll put a smile on your face.

    Pure HQ race engine there.

They dont run fuel injection that im aware of.

Redline manifold and a holley 350 would be my thoughts.
