Default How to remove wheel studs or axle?

Hey guys, just a question, i have 2 wheel studs that are wrecked (ON THE REAR) on my vk sedan, disc brakes all round.
How do i go about replacing the studs? or if its difficult, just replace the whole axle.

    Cheers
    Scott

    Hammer.....

If anyone is taking studs out that aren't wrecked...then put an old wheel nut on the end of the stud before you hit it to prevent damage to the stud...

yeah but even with a nut on it you can still squish the thread. you will know about when you go to take the nut off the stud. lol, you will end up with a stud that you cant get pliers on to take the nut off you put on

my advice is; if the stud aint broke, dont f.. with it.

and to get them back on, its best to hit them too, but if your leaving it on the car it might not be possible to get to the back of the stud. itll go back in by itelf when your tighten it up, but its best to make sure the litle splines go back in roughly the right grooves, i have seen (how do i explain?hmmm) the grooves on the stud and the grooves in the hole tried to go on top of each other, rather than next to each other (making sense?) as the guy tightened up his wheel the spines stripped out that the stud didnt go all the way into the axle. i didnt do much harm, cept for half his spline being f'ked. the wheel was tight, but i would image after a few thousand kms it couldve caused a problem.
