VK police pursuit Enquiry

Hi all,
looking at a VK, police issue pursuit car from W.A
asking price is not to bad, body is straight with minimum rust, has a good interior, air, fan, wipers are not working, motor sounds ok. Car has been stored.

body no : 186 350-a
trim : 0924-24x
paint : 1b109-d
eng: Lv2, M40, GU4

September 1985 build

Any information would be appreciated, would like to confirm details are correct. Thanks in advance for any info.

impressive use of caps, as mentioned i don't have any pic but wish i did. Will try to get some to make you happy.
Want to confirm numbers to make sure it is what I am told it is, all the pic's in the world aren't worth anything if the number's dont make sense.
Caps are worth sh%t, if you dont have a helpfull answer why even bother responding with sh%t all.

With the model code line, can't see BT1, denotes ex Police Pack option. But, have a look at the front door arm rests. A bit of a tell tale sign.

On police packs, the rear arm rests where also in the front doors.

Did all the police packs have Bt1 on the plates or just some of them and where was it stamped on the plate,cheers

All are meant to have the BT1 stamped. But often, Police got cars off Holden dealers that weren't police packs.

On the build plate, model number code line, BT1 is stamped at the end, IE VK8VK19-BT1

Yes I brought a ex pursuit car back in 1986 and still have it today - depending on the price you have a very good start in performance wise already with some good gear - good money for Brocky mock up's

eng: Lv2, M40, GU4 ( LV2) = 4.9litreBrock motor (M40) = ????? (GU4) = Heavy duty Salisbury LSD

Corrections here. LV2 means 304 ci block not a brock spec. At the beginning of Feb 1985, Holden only made 304 ci motors due to Group A rules. The old 5 litre/308 code was L31. Only way to see if its a Brock spec is the engine number prefix.

M40 means the good ole 3 Speed Trimatic auto slush box

GU4 means 3.08:1 diff ratio not heavy duty Sals diff. All factory V8 VK's all had the 10 bolt Sals diff. You would have to get the build paper to see if its fitted with heavy duty internals, LSD.

does your dash tacho look like this with the extra ticks on the tacho? if so its a xpiggy dash & also does it have black pockets on the front doors
