first, check that it isnt just a worn tappet (rocker) so to figure out roughly which tappet it is, start the engine, get a big screwdriver, preferably one that the shaft goes all the way through the handle, put it on the rocker cover just above each tappet so 12 different positions, and stick your ear on the other end of the screwdriver. the sound of a noisy tappet will travel through the shaft of the driver and if just one is noisy itll be louder in a certain area so itll give you an idea of which one to check.
whip off the rocker cover and go to the area that sounds like its faulty and wriggle the tappets. if one is crazy loose, then that'll be your problem.
try that first and get back to usi got stuff to do right now.
Hi there, probably the best thing U can do is to remove the rocker cover and suss out all of the 12 rockers as there is a zero tolerance so it wont be hard to find the dicy one.Check the rockers and the lifters, they are very cheap to buy, maybe your rocker bolt has just come loose.Worst case scenario is that your cam is worn or one of your valves is stuck.
When the rocker cover is removed rotate the crank until U see all the valves moving up and down...Best to have someone else helping U with this, one to turn the crank and the other to check the valves.Good Luck.
