vh cooling problem

ok so the temp gage in my vh is broken buts thats ok the problem i have is the old 202 get very hot and i dont know a way of cheaking to see if the thermostat is working or not so if eney one knows a way of testing it .........

Take the thermostat out, and put it in a saucepan full of water. Put it onto boil. The thermostat will open at bout 80deg (usual thermostat temp). When it opens, grab a thermometer and see what temp the water is. If its not around 80deg, its stuffed.
This is one way of doing it.
My way is to get $10 and go to your auto parts shop and buy a new one!
