Hello all! I have been a member of the forum for a while now but didnt want to post anything until the project was nearing completion. But as it is 99.99% complete except for a little tuning i thought that i would share.
We had a VH SS Group III restored (it had been sitting in the shed for over 10 years and not moved) and speced out for targa racing as we want to race the car in tarmac road rallies. Everything has been left pretty standard except the brakes and the motor has been stroked to 355 (which is acceptable as it was a HO option from factory). Here are some before and after pics and also a couple of clips from its first run.
Hope you enjoy!

Hard to believe it's the same car. Loved the youtube clips
made the pics a bit smaller for you all...just thought that you might have wanted to see the rust up close!!
Awesome group three mate!! Fantastic. (very jealous.....)
Didn't want to go with the original color? You don't see many in black is all, mostly red or white.
Really nice job tho, good luck and have fun in the rallies.
black wasn't the original colour, in some point in its life someone resprayed it from red to black because black was not an option on those cars. So we put it back to the cars original colour, if you scrapped the black of the VIN it was red underneath.
vey nice car m8, love the group 3 ss, just 1 thing no offense intended, but why destroy a perfect rare ss and make it a track car
we really wanted a classic car to do targa rallies in and this one was a friend of ours. and being a group 3 it had pretty good specs to build from, bilstien suspension, stroker option for the motor and it was fairly lightweight. so that meant there was little modifications needed to keep it fast but competitive in a standard class.
Also no offense intended, If he hadn't it would still be rotting away in a shed somewhere otherwise, better as a track car then soon to be rust bucket.
Looks and sounds pretty tough! Makes you wonder though, how many other rare Brocks are there hiding away? i know of one just to start with............
I know of one! In mint condition too! He has been offered a fortune by collectors and just won't part with it! He is an old bloke and is the original owner! Took me months to convince him to start it up and take me for a lap! Good work on the restoration by the way!
That looks awesome mate. Well done. Love the before pics too. Its my dream to find a desirable brock in a shed like that..
