VK mini spool info

so there is a user on here who is too chicken to start a new thread so i thought id start one for him

so he has a VK 6 and wants to know how/where/how much a minispool will be.

Depends wat diff ya have. Being a VK 6 it would either be a 8 bolt Salisbury or a borgy. If it's an 8 bolt....take it out and chuck a borgy under it. Ya can pick them up cheap (they're a better diff). Then buy a minispool for the borgy, which will set ya back about $90. Got mine off ebay from Street 'n Strip Gears.

Dunno wat it's worth getting one installed by a pro tho. I got the diff for my wagz built from a company that sponsors our race car, so didn't cost me anything.

To get a diff rebuilt with a minispool, no idea, local diff shop..?

Just type "mini spool" into the ebay search, if there's not one listed, there should be a shop that can get them. Not sure how strong some of the axles would be though..?

Just don't get that one coz it's a 28 spline minispool. Your borgy would be 25 spline.

i have no idea TBH. personally i think spools are a pain in the arse, much prefer a LSD (which i have) but its what VKjonno wants....

(saves the PM's when i dont have that much of a clue about 6 diffs)

Spools are highly illegal. I don't like em either. But, some members i know swear by them.

well spool just seemed easier.. what lsd diff would fit straight on
would a vlt come out with lsd and would that fit on....?
