    Default VK Power Steering Leak..Advice

    Hey All,

Had a search through the forums and few peoples posts have helped me quite well. Basically my power steering has been leaking quite a bit lately, just got worse over the last day or two.

I have checked for leaks around the pump, lines, etc and all clear there, however when I had a friend stick his head under to observe, when I do a full lock to lock turn, power steering fluid leaks quite heavily from the passenger side, steering rack.

What would be the best option to do? as it is only one side? And roughly a cost? I will be ringing a few places tomorrow to get it checked out but just want advice whether to go to the wreckers or just get the current one fixed up as it is only one side.

    Cheers,
    DEAN

I would put a reco one in, saves time and has warranty, ball park figure is about 250 bucks give or take.
passenger side is the more common side to leak as there is a bush in there that tends to wear faster than the drivers side which can cause a knock when turning at low speeds and when really bad at normal speed, and because of this wear it puts pressure on the seal and it will eventually leak. But if you wreckers has a low km one at a good price that would also be the go.

Ok thanks for the info guys! Gonna put a reco one in it, one less thing I have to worry about when I do my engine conversion in a few months time.
