Yeah doubt it's a cat, the VL's were the first to get those.

You'll have to jump under to see where the rattle is coming from. Won't have to have it running, just look around the whole exhaust and see where it's sittin real close to the body. Sometimes an easy fix is to put a bit of rubber between the exhaust and body where it's making contact. Could even be a broken engine mount causing it to.

only way to fix is go over the whole exhaust i think, check all bolts, check theres nothing lose inside your muffler.
