hey guys, after about 2 hours off taking apart half my bloddy engine just to get to the starter and replace it. when i wired the new one up and put everything back togeather when i turn the key to acc it starts but also when you go a click further in the start pos it starts too.. so uhh how can i find this problem or what is causing it?? thanks for the help

there should be one purple wire to the starter (flat blade connection from memory) and one battery wire. thats it. if you have two wires connected to the starter then there is your problem. your sending acc power to the starter solenoid, making it start when it isnt supposed to.
all sorted i had the spade around the wrong way.. but the big spade is on a small one and small on the big.. so around the wrong way but it works haha.. now after putting the extractors, manifold and carby back on my car wont idle anymore... i have not taken any hoses off it ect except for the fuel line. all i did was on mount it replace started and remount it later on in the process and doesnt want to idle.. i can drive it fine but soon as you stop at the lights and put the clutch in it struggles and then dies.. start it back up same thing...
