As you may know from my other threads, I have a VK 202 Black auto and the old choke on carby was gone, so got a whole new carby (recond) with new gaskets etc and now it idles great but cuts out on very light throttle and if I try to hold higher revs it also cuts out.
I have replaced the manifold gasket and checked vacumn lines and all semms well. I took carby back to manufacturers and they checked it out and think its fine, but just put it back on and still issues.
some people have suggested timing etc, but if it has not been changed since before the carby replacement would it need doing? as it was fine before I changed carby (only changed it as it started like crap due to no choke).
I tried the old carby again and it seems better but still seems to get a flat spot at light throttle, so any ideas?
thanks
jas
has the carby been tuned ie: set up at all, if not this may be your problem as it may not be getting enough fuel to do much more than idle, you will need to adjust your mixture screw it is at the back right hand side of the carby. and also check that the needle and seat is right as it might not be letting enough fuel into the fuel bowl.
hows your fuel pressure and flow ? condition of the fuel in the tank ? any air leaks in your carby base gasket ?
Have you checked the float level , It could be too low and starving for fuel on anything higher than idle. Also do they have the right size jets . They could be too big and flooding the motor and causing it to stall
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
fuel flow appears OK, replaced filter, but notice it is never full, is this right as it appears to only ever be around half to 3/4 full with air in top,
All gaskets are new and tight, no fuel leaks, or noticeable air leaks.
Carby guys said they set it for my motor and I have tried adjusing the richness and air bleed (idle), no luck,
I am hopefully getting another cheap carby and will suss it out as it is supposed to be running perfect.
Could it be anything else other than carby? as it only happened since change.
