We have a 202 VC SL which only gets used to go to the shops or pub, to save our VX SS a bit of work,
was thinking about the coolant in the VC, it has a long life Valvoline coolant in it but it has not been changed for probably 8 years, it is still a good deep green colour and looks as good as the day it went in, car runs faultlessly even on 40 degree plus days and has no leaks, never top it up, it has probably only done 40k on the coolant, if it was my SS I would religiously change it at the recommended intervals, but as the car is just a run about and there is no rust in the radiator do you think it is a waste to dump it, at least it is still working as a rust inhibitor even if the glycol level has gone.
Any thoughts?

All first gen commies (VB-VK) are notorious for coolant problems. Its probably a good idea to just it keep in tip top condition. I flush my VH out at least once every 2 months maybe every onth under hard labour. Its not that hard to do nor is it to o much in cost.
