Hey
I'm looking at buying a holden calais VK. Its a 1985. V8, 4D sedan, petrol, 3sp auto with 17"alloys, trip computer, radio cassette with 4 speakers, power steering, power mirrors, central locking, cruise control, air con. Velour interior in top condition, great paint job. Its done 190 000kms. Engine number matches plates. All original.
They want $9,995 for it......
Does this sound like a good deal or am i about to be rippped off.
Red book prices say $1,000 - $2,600 but thats for a car thats done 350 000kms and upwards.
Help!!!
My view is no way in hell it is worth ten grand. Maybe, and only maybe if it had say 90,000 k's, one owner, always garaged with full service history it might be worth $8,000 (MAYBE!!!). There are still too many VK Calais around to worth that much IMHO.
What's it worth to you?
tell him his dreamin...
go and try and find another one in the same condition, just try.
i paid 3500 for my vk calais with no motor or box but my car had a new custom paint job and i new the owner for ages.
but in saying that, my car is not standard now and i wouldn't take any less then 10k for it now but like i said mine isn't stock anymore lol
if OP thinks it worth it, then its worth it. i personally wouldnt pay that but i am not in the market for a VK. i can totally understand why someone would pay that much for a mint V8 though. just make sure it is what they say it is.
