i need some info on what carbys are available for a blue 202 motor (preferably twin triple or twin throat)
also extractors.
and how do you shave a head is it possible on the ol 202s (a link with step by step instructions would be great)
and how much would these cost. would i need to play with the bottom end if i shaved the head on it?
cheers
carbs - tripple sidedraft webbers or SU's. Two barrel downdraft Webber, Holley or the factory blue motor Varajet
yes shaving a 202 head is possible, but unless you have a machine shop, then you'll need to send it to a machine shop. No need to change the bottom end.
Extractors - Genie, Pacemaker etc, most popular brands will make them.
Go the triple 1-3/4" SU's. You really can't beat them for performance. Really run a treat. I've got a set on my VK wagon, and it's a real pleasure and a bit of a scare to drive. lol. Plenty of power and awesome acceleration when I need it. Once you get a set of them, you wonder why you've even bothered with anything else and everything else seems pointless!
Cheers!
i went into the machine shop today he quoted 200 dollars to shave head is this a good price?
if i got the head bored would i need to change any internals?
would su carbies off a grey motor fit? what about off a ford?
is there a major difference between 1-3/4 and 1-1/2?
I think we really need a sticky for 202 performance mods.
In the mean time, this link has some good info: How To Build A High-Performance Holden Six
Four commodores and counting.
head work will improve performance by allowing it to flow better while the shave will increase compression n this is good.
Sorry to hijack the thread a bit, but Slayer, what do the triple SU's do for your fuel economy? I know it wouldn't do good things for it, but is really terrible?
