VK Calais Questions
G'day all just purchased an 85' vk calais 3.3ltr fuel injected, the car has a couple issues with it which i need some help with.
Firstly the electronic dash which is in it has issues, it keeps beeping constantly saying low coolant but it has just had a brand new radiator all new hoses and thermostat etc put on it yet its still beeping what could be causing this? is there a sender unit somewhere?
Also when accelerating i can hear a ticking noise, where would it be coming from and what would it be?
any help would be great, i'm sure i'll find more wrong with it as i go =] lol
yep sender unit is in the radiator at the front i had this same problem when my radiator died and i had too use a XF low coolant sender coz holden didnt have the vk calais one in stock or making them.If you take your grill off there sould be a wire sitting at the front of the radiator i can take a pic of my setup if you need it.As for the ticking that could heaps of things.
lol yea dude id be worried about the ticking! can ya tell us where ya recon its comin from aprox? back? front? top? bottom? like to help but not enough info.
frosty_82 pics would be helpful if you could, as for the ticking sounds like its coming from from the back of the motor or possibly the transmission?
That ticking could be a cracked extractors.
id explain exhaust pin hole sound as more of a popping noise rather then ticking. so it doesnt sound internal?

ticking is usually rockers (tappets) easy fix. tighten them em
