still aint figured this one out! got fuel and under pressure in the lines, fuel rail and when cranked comin out the return line! but the ****er still wont fire! got spark and plenty of it! (:P got my brother lil 13 yr old brother to hold the plug and the block while i turned it over! lol hehe) dont think the fuel is getting injected into the chamber cos i remove plug and crank it and cant smell any fuel! suggestions?
if i remember right push the flap of the airflow meter open with the key on and the injectors will squirt fuel
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
ok sweet when i get home il do that! do they need like priming or somethin? cos the fuel was disconected but was running fine before that
how have you connected the tachonomic relay?..gotta be the ecu not sending any power to the injectors for some reason.
I fitted vk efi to my previously carbied vh and for a change after I put it all together on the motor it fired straight away and it has been goin well for 6 months or so

um there is power to injectors. checked that with the light thingy! any other suggestions?
12v positive is supplied from the tachonomic relay to one side of the injectors on the white wire (this is where you are reading the 12v+ probably) and the other wire on the injectors is a blue wire and it supplies the negative. The ecm supplies the negative at varing times to open injectors to regulate fuel.

oh didnt realise that there was constant power to the injector then the ecm provided the earth! hope i didnt **** it by earthin it out with the tester! how do you check it then? dam electronics! lol
If you test using a voltmeter it shouldnt hurt anything because it has a high impedance (meaning the very slight extra current using it wont cause any dramas) I suppose to check the ecms earthing of the injectors you would have to to take a wire off one of the injectors using a voltmeter with one lead on the injector end lug end of the blue wire and the other end on a 12v source and get someone to turn the engine over and check to see if it is getting the pulse but it will be only a short time.Another test is you could prove all the wiring from injector plug to ecm plug if you disconnected the ecm and took a injector wire off and on ohms on the meter make sure you have a circuit.
On another angle the ecm uses a few sources of powerso it works....a constant 12v on the grey wire on terminal 9 .....and the violet wire just when the starter wire is engaged on terminal 4 and a signal from the neg terminal of the coil on terminal (this actually tells the ecm when to pulse the injectors)...they should be present on the lugs on the ecm plug at the right time.

ok think im gonna hafta read that over a few times to wrap my head around it! lol stupid wiring! i didnt use a voltmetre just one of those lights with a mwtal tip and an aligator clip on the other end. iv blown fuses in the past using it, do ya recon using this would have had any issues?
Nah, the system is protected to save from short circuits, but do yourself a favour and spend $10 at dick smith/tandy and get a digital multimeter to play with. Heaps more accurate and can test heaps more stuff.
While you are there, spend another 30c and buy an LED globe with long wire terminals. More expensive EFI tools are called noid lights, but for a single use, a basic LED will be suffice.
Unplug your injector and plug one leg from the LED into each of the injector wiring plug terminals.
Crank your engine, and if the ECU is pulsing the injectors, the LED will flash quickly. (The flash will only last 2 or 3 milliseconds, so keep your eyes open). Remember, the LED has polarity, and will only flash if correctly plugged in. If not, turn the LED around and try again.
This pulsing happens too quickly for a multimeter to respond to, hence the need for the LED.
yea i had a multi but my brother recently got his first car and put it in the shed and moved all my tools n heaps of shit into my other bays so now i only got two bays to work with instead of four grr lol the multi is somewhere in that pile! il def go grab a few leds. do ya know if a certain colour would be easiest to see? wont be back at mums for couple weeks or sogrrr dont ya hate it when ya try for ages then ya leave then ya get some good info and cant get back! grrr
hows ur oil pressure i think i remember something that if theres oil pressure the ecu wont fire the injectors not sure but try it
