ok lookin to build this one light, responsive, very quick off the line! max speed of like 140. just want to get to say 80 really quick! suggestions? its a standard 202 efi from a vk berlina!
supercharged 202
lol 4.44 does sound high! how do i do this? also gotta keep in mind i want to still be able drive it at 110 without reving the tits off it!
and no il be keeping this one naturally aspirated!
next question is i think i read a while back somethin about an aftermarket better efi system for the 202.
I'd look towards what they did with the XU-1 for NA. Or just cheat with a snail or blower.

get triple carbs - stuff the injected vk motors they were garbage Holden never got them right , shave head 40 thou ($50) . Head ported & polished ($450) Extractors with of course the 2 1/4 exhaust if U havent already. Get the old trimatic shift kitted & some 3.9s.
ok dude. whats so good about tripple su's? dad recons they are a **** to tune and keep runnin on song! not sayin im out ruleing them just want ya knowledge! and get the trimatic fitted with 3.9s? what ya talkin about there dude! lol im not any good with auto gear boxes!
Triple SU's are good when they are tuned but will run like a dog when they are out of sync. If you learn to Tune them yourself then they will be Great for you, Baring in mind that Because of Emission Laws you cant Legally without a Mod Cert (I think) go From Fuel Injection back to Carby if its street Registered.
When SS905l said put 3.9's in he actually means the Diff Ratio. 3.9 is a Good Ratio for the 3speed as its not too tall like the 4.44's so it wont Rev out like an Old Datsun on the Freeway.
thanx for that dude. um dont really gotta worry about the certificates lol i know the dude that does em and he is a bit of a rev head himself fo im sure he will turn a blind evey! hehe! ok so il go for 3.9 ratio. that in the dif or like you said in the trimatic? im not real good with gearing, i understand it all but setting it up gets me! how do i change from what i got to 3.9 ratio?
he is talkin' diff centers. easiest way is to find a complete 3.9 diff, disc to disc and swap it. otherwise i would take it to a diff center cos' they need to be shimed and balanced correctly.
straight gas , gas research set up on a VK injected manifold mild cam shaved head 11.5 to 1 comp ratio , headers 2.5" or 3" inch mandrel bent system , re-curved dizzy , ram air intake , or simply super charger the engine sc-14 blower setup ???

I wouldnt get a 3.9 diff for a street car ,being a standard motor it wont rev high causing the car to have a very low top speed .I used to run a old torana with 3.9,s a trimatic and fairly stock 202 ,it only had a top speed of about 140km/h and 1/4mile time of 15.5. Change to a manual (aussie 4 speed) and 3.08 diff and it ran a 15.7 1/4, slower but with a lot more top end.
lol i dont want to go higher then 140. lol most cop cars only hit 140 ya know! they have a cut out system :P unless ya get the ss highway patrol cars which they only ment to get to 200 but my mates dad took us out and we was doin 220 easy! they def aint standard those ones! sorry im ramblin on again! anyways um so what sorta dif am i lookin for with the 3.9 dif ratio?
HJ one tonner.
p.s. a cop panel van passed me on the fwy about 2 months ago and i guarantee he was doing a lot more than 140
ok sweet im gonna go fine a hj tonner! really? thats very interesting! hmmm still pretty sure they all got cut outs. i worked with a guy that does it all! wonder why the pannel van didnt get the chip!
I think this is hilarious who wants to do over 140-150 You cant use it id rather have a fast car from 0-100 atleast its usable on the street. As for the 3.9s I didnt say they went in the transmission, the shiftkit goes inside the transmission to give more firmer positive shifts, a stage 2 with kevlar bands would be good. You could use a vk Calais diff that has LSD & then buy the 3.9 diff gears and fit yourself, they have disc brakes on the rear too. If you dont wanna change to carby just get a bigger cam fitted with the head ported, polished & shaved.
