Hey ppl as title says i have a vk calais and it will crank over in a second when cold no problems but when hot it takes a good 10-15 secs for it to crank over.
ive changed the fuel pressure regulator and can hear fuel pump priming just not sure what it could be has been doing it since i brought the car.
Not sure if it helps but the guy just had the dizzy rebuilt before i got the car
cheers
any ideas ppl

What kind of fuel economy are you getting because it could be something like a dodgy temp sender for the computer making it think its cold and injecting to much fuel. Are you pumping the throttle while cranking? I would check your plug gap, and see if its running rich. If it starts ok cold chances are that it would have fuel pressure in the rail when hot as well so i doubt its a pressure issue but you never know. You could check if the injectors are being fired by the computer when its hot with a multi meter on the plug when you first start to crank or if the computer is delaying it for some reason.
My calais had the same sort of problem and i found out it was the Ignition Module in the dizzy
Here is a website that might help you out

hey, does it sound like the engine is struggling to turn over? or is it just free cranking with no fire?
hey guys it doesnt struggle to turn over just takes a while but i might try the Ignition Module in the dizzy as stated cause the guys who owned it before me only put the rebuilt dizzy in the day i bought it and said it never did it before that but who knows... i will have a look over the weekend
cheers guys
edit: also it does use alot of fuel but thought all inj 202s did lol
Frosty_82 Wat did you do to fix urs. Did u just get a new module

might just need the timing done
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
I'd say your injectors are leaking fuel and flooding the engine, so making hot starts difficult. When cold the fuel injectors still leak after turning off, but fuel pressure eventually drops, they stop leaking, and fuel evaporates, so next time you start (cold) it'll start first pop.
Could try and have injectors cleaned, easy to remove yourself and take in for cleaning/testing to fuel injection specialist. In my case I bought another set off a wrecker for $10 and they turned out to be good ones. New injectors cost a bomb... I think ford falcon XF injectors were very similar spec if not the same.

If your injectors are leaking ands its getting flooded, you could try holding it flat like you do with any flooded car to help improve the air/fuel mixture and clear it out quicker. And as stated above check your timing and the Dizzy.
thanks for the info guys havent got round to havin a look at it yet its stuck in the garage for now will let u no when i do
