WTF??? If it was already an LSD he woundnt need the centre

You can install just the centre but usually may not be worth it. There are better diffs out there depending on the application better ratios as well. Trying to track down the right centre will be the hard part. For the cost + effort you may be able to buy a complete diff and sell your old one to cut down the change over costs.

KAAZ do some very nice LSD centres which you could buy new for your diff also.
A good factory type diff for early commodores is the VL Turbo (3.45:1 ratio) or VL V8 (3.08:1) disc brake, 4 pinion LSD, reasonably strong axels easy change over.

    cheers

hey, i might thread heist now that this is open:

i dont intentionally do burnouts, cos i like my tyres and im a fan of traction. anyways, whenever it rains i get zero traction, especially from the left hand side rear. obviously its an LSD, 3.55 ratio. but was wondering, if one wheel always spins up faster than the other, would that be a sign i need a new center or do all salisburys do that? the car will ALWAYS kick left, even if the right hand side is facing down a slope.
