Where to get a Gearbox

hey guys, my trimatic is stuffed so i have to replace it. I want to buy a 5 speed gearbox for it. I know it will be a lot of work to convert it but ive gotta a m8 how has done to a few of his previous car like his 186 corolla!!! (best corolla ever). the engine in the car is a 202. how much would it cost etc. etc

Really depends on how much u can get all the gear for. If ya mate can do the work for bugger all.....then yeah just have to find all the bits. Ya may as well get a new clutch, so maybe allow $1000 all up......if ya know where to look and ur patient u could prolly halve it, maybe more! I bought a 5spd for a mate for $150 about a year ago, can also get new HD clutch kits for $150, tailshaft $50 tops, clutch cable $20ish, spigot bearing, $10, pedal box $50 maybe......ya get the idea. Might be able to find stuff cheaper, or if ya go to a wrecking yard ya might pay double that.

yeah. i think ill look around. haha i pay my m8 in beers lol. case per job. so bout 50 bucks lol. but i could probably cook food for him and he will do it for free lol.
