Does anyone know if a cruise control transducer out of a VK can be used in a VH? I know there are two types out of the VK - one for the digital dash and one for analogue - I am hoping the VK analogue one will fit a VH since the VH ones seem quite rare......
Unless your going for originality i would just go buy an aftermarket one. Pretty cheap and easy to install.
Yeah I am trying to keep it original if at all possible.
Cheers
I've got a VK with original cruise control in it. Despite a lot of adjustment it's still really jumpy so I don't really use it.
I'd definitely recommend using an aftermarket solution. I'd expect it will give you a much smoother ride and be easier to operate.
Well my cruise doesn't work at all - and my speedo jumps around a fair bit also. I have replaced all the cables, speedo clock and driven gear and it has only marginally improved. So I assume it's the transducer - I was hoping to replace it to fix the speedo and maybe (a BIG maybe!!) get the cruise working. I didn't really want aftermarket cruise levers and buttons on the dash, unless you can operate it from the original cruise switch on the steering column? I should look into it.
Cheers mate
Derek,
The cruise control modules for VC, VH and VK (both analogue and digital) are the same - the only difference is what screws into the 'output' side of the mechanism. For analogue gauges it's a speedo cable, for digital it's a speedo encoder, similar to those found on modern cars.
