    Default Trimatic wires?

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the two wires to a VH trimatic were for?

I know the Orange one is kick-down but what is the black one for?

It goes to a "sender" but i cant find any info on it and a replacement tranny doesn't have the same "sender"

    Old one

    New one

    Wires.
    Just my 2 cents worth...

    on a VK:
the black one is the kick down cable. its connected to the switch on you accelerator pedal and when you depress the pedal far enough to trigger that switch, it kicks down.
the plug is on the top of the trans sump-area. its a little brass pin sticking up, but you have to be careful when you connect it cos' you can push it inside the trans pretty easily (mine does anyway) in your second pic, its located just underneaththe towl a little to the rear of the trans.

edit* sorry, oposite side. the plug is on the drivers side rounghly under the towl area. if that makes sense.

another thing to note is that trimatics have a vacuum modualtor which is the primary kick down-change up, which is connected to either full vac on the carb or manifold vac, so really those plugs dont need to be hooked up.

my pedal switch hasnt worked since i owned the car, its all down to the shifter and how fast i want to go. i did manage to get the switch working once, but noticed that it stopped my pedal from going all the way to the floor, so i took it off.
