probably not a lot, cars like that don't always sell with roadworthys so having one is good, most struggle to get 2k
Unfortunately unless you find someone that wants this car they are worth very little these days. The wheels are reg are the things of most value. To give you an idea i bought my old vk standard body in good condition, 202 manual for $200 You can still find good examples for nothing.
Why not invest some time and a little money into some tlc? Get the chrome shined up, serviced, suspension work, seek some 2nd hand parts or a wreck with some good bits and swap it over. If you go over board you're never going to get the money back that you put into it, but you'll get the enjoyment and satisfaction of owning a nice tidy tough old commmodore.
Who's to say whats going overboard and what is & isnt in the first place? If you enjoy working on your car who cares what everyone else thinks about its age. Tidy vh's are the best of the old commodores, have a look at some of the examples in the forum.
hook us up with some photos im in the market for a vh
cheers
Considering that it is basically original and apart from paint sounds like is in ok condition I would say $3k.....to maintain value i'd pull off the 17's, take them to a wrecker and source some clean original steelies. The car will look better, and will actually be worth more....
Sounds very similar to our VC SL, I reckon I would be lucky to get $1k for ours, there really not worth much.
Hey guys thanks heaps for the replies I've been busy lately, as I thought the car is worth more to me than I can sell it for, I also really love the shape of the vh so I guess I'll keep it around for a while. Cheers
I bought my VH for $200, good buy though
230,000
paint is a bit worn out
hardly any rust
small hole in carpet (car mats fixed that)
needed a good clean inside at the time
motor is a 4cyl starfire but has never once stopped on me
original wheels
chrome is a little pitted at the back bumper
has a big dent in the rear drivers side behind mudflap
