i have 2 vk calais and one was giving a coolant error. I had a look at the one giving the error and it has had a new radiator put in it, and it is missing the sensor that sticks out that is used to determine the coolant level. So this also could be the problem........

i would nt worry about it . everytime i start my ck calais it goes , beep beep beep low coolant . just keep an eye on your temp while driveing and you ll be ok . and look at your oil , coolant level once a week etc .

    cheers

Hey I know the problem. My VK V8 calais used to beep at me too until I discovered the problem. Just beneath the top radiator outlet hose (V8 engine) is a small sensor. If this sensor is not connected or even if it's simply dirty, you will receive constant beeps warning you of what the computer thinks is a low coolant problem. Clean the terminal and reconnect and check the wiring. That should fix your problem.

yeah just either clean the part where the sensor is attached to the hose or you have to just take the sensor off and attatch it properly again, i had one that beed constantly and it was only loose wiring

Liar. I had one that beeped constantly, don't claim my K as yours :P

But yeah, if it's a non original radiator, then most likely the sensor wire isn't grounded properly, just reground it somewhere else, and you should be sweet. Same thing applies with the original radiator, it will be something to do with the connections to the sensor.
