I've got a VK 202 black carby that I brought and a lot of things have been totally butchered or disconnected and it just looks weird. I need help finding out where certain hoses go or what they are.
Off the top of my head all i can think of is there is a button under the steering wheel but I have NO idea what it does, deffinatly not a stock item.
And the 2 hoses out of the radiator overflow bottle, one goes into the radiator, where does the other go?
I'll add more things as I think of/find them as I keep discovering new things.
Some things might seem totally stupid but unfortunatly, I'm a newb.
Cheers
-Adam
Does it have elec windows? If it does that switch is the child lock for the rear windows. The other pipe out of the overflow dumps to ground.
Nah no electric windows. Ah, that's why i couldn't work out where it went to. haha.
the 2 little hoses coming out of the radiator overflow tank are from memory one to catch overflow from radiator, and the other spits water out onto the ground when the overflow tank get too full
RippleEphex is right about the hoses. dump hose comes out below the bottle and into the mud guard. (there is a factory hole)
If it looks like it is tucked away and out of sight, possibly hidden, it could be for a kill switch. That's where I (eventually) found mine in my old VC. Maybe not but see if there is any sort of alarm or immobilisor on it.

a photo could help, if ya talking about the one's on the carby side of the block, some are emissions and some are some other thing that i dont know wat there for
I'll take photo's on the weekend as it's at my mums house. I think a lot of the emissions shit off the old carby was pulled off and the 350 holley doesn't need them all?
I'll get some photo's and hopefully someone can tell me where to stick everything (And not the obvious answer)
Didn't get any photo's but I worked out most of it was for the old Duel Fuel that I ripped out, and it had been done reaally dodgey. Much cleaner engine bay!
Only thing I can think of now that I don't know what it is is the pulley on the top right of the engine above the alternator and the power steering pump? the one with the black slider bracket?
Both me and dad had no idea :S and he's the one that's sposed to be teaching haha
Oh one more thing, My dad knows 202's inside out (moreso red motors) and took a look at my car the other day and told me its been molested, leading us to thinking it once had EFI and has been ripped off and replaced with a carby. I will take a photo of the engine bay next time I'm there, but could anyone tell me, If that is the case, what can I pull off that I don't need? The parts that didn't look familiar were the fuel rails going into the head, And the pulley above the alternator that I can't seem to find any photo's of anyone having on here :S
Let me know what you can and I'll get some photo's ASAP
the pulley will be the tensioner for air cond.
as far as ripping stuff out goes: if you dont know what it does, best leave it in there.
The tensioner for the air con is on the other side, the one I'm talking about is opposite (On the right side on a different belt)
I've tried to find pictures but noone else seems to have it on theirs?
Could that be the air pump?I think it designed for anti pollution crap.
Have you still got the inlets going into the head?
Like this?
Yeah on the right facing the car. Thanks for the picture! Now I can also reference to what the engine bay SHOULD look like haha
Thats it there.
I don't think it's doing anything so can I rip it off?
My car has a 350 holley on it, most polution stuff has been disconected, which I don't care about but it has to go for a roadworthy. What goes where on the holley?!?!
The canister purge is disconected (no idea where it goes) and once again off the top of my head I can't think of what else hasn't found its place :S I think most are vacuum lines. If anyone has a diagram of any of this or has a holley could you help me?
Once again, I'll get photo's this weekend and post them, but any help now will give me less crap to think about all day while I should be working.
Thanks

Member VKBerlina's site has diagrams for stock vacuum lines.
Air pump is for emissions, if you pull it off you get exhaust coming out the line where it plugs in from memory so if you do you have to block it or weld up all the pipes that go into the head.
The cannister is meant to sit in behind the driver side headlight and the lines are from the fuel tank into cannister to engine.Mine is still connected up and as far as I know it has never been touched.
As far as the air pump well that went in the bin when I went to LPG,but I had to plug the 3 holes in the top of the head where the lines went in from pump. What made U put a Holley on?Have you noticed any improvement?I have heard that they are crap?I am running a stock but rebuilt Varajet 11 and had Sprints Carby rebush the throttle body, gas cam, changeover gas/unlead head rebore 80 thou balanced crank heavy duty starter and high amp alternator.
Did a comp test recently with good numbers, been interstate, towed heavy trailers no dramas really.
On the highway can keep up with the latest whizz bangers.Oh and I've got a fully functional dual fuel as well.Take care.
I'll let you know how the holley goes when i get the car going and get my license, which should be in about 2-3 weeks (Can't friggen wait)
Hopefully it will be all running good soon and ready for the exhaust then roadworthy!
80 thou in a red motor is pretty extreme.........

Sure they might be talking metric .945mm?? 60thou is about 1.5mm we have had cooling and cracking issues at 60thou before.
Isnt 80thou when water jackets meet pistons?? I guess it would be a cheap and easy way to get water injection :P
