    Default engine conversion....v6 or v8?

ok now i know everyone is gonna straight away tell me to drop an v8 in it but iv never really liked v8s that much! like i mean i love other ppl drivin em but as my own car i just recon id kill myself or end up back in prison.

oknext year when i turn 21 i get a load of cash and its all goin on my cars, the vk first then the rest on the torana! now the torana is keeping the fuel injected 202 no matter what!

im considering v6 or v8 for my vk. wanna know what is gonna be best! i mainly want off the line to say 140 cos i might put it in the local drags for fun. i dont need any more top end speed then that. so im leaning towards v6. how hard would it be to fit the supercharged v6 from a vu calais?

n how much power do the standard superchargers pull? id obviously tune it to max torque... or would it be a waste of money and should i just go a vs v6 and put an aftermarket supercharger on?

if ya bored give us ya ideas! i get the money feb next year so got plenty of time to work out what i wanna do.

majority will go on makin it look sweet! pretty set on the look but open to ideas!

l67 engines are really good, good on petrol and power, and they make heaps of power off the line, teres a wagon runnin 10.98 without stalling at the start at all

    lol ari,

Whats the main outcome you're looking to acheive? Power/Quarter Times/Nice reliable streeter/Daily Driver?
Whats the budget you have to work with? You say a load of cash, but is that a few thousand, 10,000, or 20,000?
    Whats you're preference on injected/carby?

If its just for a cheap daily driver I'd go the V6 conversion, just one out of VN/VR with bolt ons, will go quick enough.
Be able to do it under $1000, comfortably.

    Depends what you want?!!

for me, I'd go the V8
but as you don't share the same sort of passion for a V8, a V6 would be a good conversion too.
Supercharged L67 would be the best option - as the bottom end is already setup for forced induction.

not a huge task with the conversion. Lots of conversion parts available these days which makes the conversion easy

ok, see now the other thing to remember is that in stock form a V6 has more power than a cast iron 308... so in actual fact, by putting in the V6 you are actually drawing closer to the pending doom that is "death or prison" so that seems to me like V8 is one more win, V6 one more lose.

plus V8 sounds much better and is better for the environment, cos' the faster we use up all those pesky fossil fuels, the sooner the boffins will stick their heads into developing hydrogen as a viable alternative.

so another win. stop wasting your time with technology and join me in the 'cast iron quest of coolness'

+1 V8 then with the extra cash go nuts with it.

Or money bags.. if you must have a 6 cylinder...rb26dett...

now I think of it maybe not a good combo for a young driver...

reliable streeter! quater mile would be good! i aint 100% sure on the final amount. money has been in a high interest saver account for 20 years so depends how much interest its occured.

my guess is 10-15k the torana is gonna be a v8 so decided im gettin a v6 for the vk... if i split the money down the middle between the two cars thats say 5k at least. def want somethin newer thats injected.... i like the responsiveness of the injection.

and what the hell is an L67? sounds like a lexus or volvo or somethin..... see im no good with newer engines.
