Hey all I have a 202 3spd auto and the instrument cluster has that useless manifold vacuum gauge and I was wondering if I can get an instrument cluster out of a manual and hook up the rev meter instead, thanks in advance.
get the whole cluster and transfer your speedo over.
Reason: some/most clusters witht he economy guage wont have the circuits to connect the tacho up and you will have to manually wire it up, the proper cluster will be a plug in solution

worst case you may have to connect a tacho wire under the bonnet but it _should_already be connected.

Yeah I thought that it might be missing but wasn't sure guess I'll just have to take it apart and have a look.
If you go for the full dash with the oil pressure gauge, you will need to change the sender unit on the motor. Also, the wiring for the oil pressure gauge is not part of the main loom, and is separate. From memory, it uses a separate terminal located near the gauge itself on the back of the cluster.
I believe the same goes for the tacho as well, but there is a wire that comes up from the coil to the dash, and it is part of the standard loom. I am 90% sure of this...
If the wiring is anything like the VK it will all be in the dash main loom, just the wire from the engine harness connector to the tacho will be missing no sender unit there, oil pressure uses a sender on the oil pump and temp uses one in the side of the head.

the VH with the vacuum gauge cluster doesn't have the tacho wire in the loom.
I did a V8 conversion in my previous VH and also swapped my cluster over for a tacho version. I just ran a wire from the coil up to the terminal on the back of the cluster for the tacho
just make sure that you buy a cluster out of a 6cyl. A V8 tacho will read incorrectly on a 6
