    Default vk fan speed resistor/blower motor

    Hi guys its that stupid time off year and my front demister doesn't work or neither does quite a few of my other functions. Ok well my question is been trying to find a new replacement but genuine discontinued this item so im seeing if anyone has used another of something else? I know its one in a million shot but its worth a try

    You can get them, they are now normal solid state resistors instead of the light bulb filament style. Try Repco or a Rare Spares agent. As you are probably aware the original is inside the airbox for cooling purposes and if you ever have a bit of crap go through the system it may break one as they are fragile and have no protection like mine did. You should still have high/ 4 as it is unrestricted so if you have no fan at all your selector slide is probably dodgy.

    yeah i do have fan 4 but only on bi level and max. not demister as thats all im worried about

    It would be your slide lever controls, they are notoriously dodgy in VKs. The contacts get dirty and stop connecting and the control panel needs to be removed to fix, just need to clean up the contacts and shes all good, try giving it a really good wiggle within reason in the demister position and see how you go.

    Hi,
    Just purchased the last genuine fan blower resistor for the vk in Australia I'm told. Found it at Preston motors in Campbellfield Victoria. After searching Rare spares, Repco, wreckers and Holden dealers i was lucky to find it and then get it over to WA as Preston motors wont take credit cards over the phone or help you with shipping. I ended up going through AMCAP in western Australia who helped me out on this one and got it to me. It was a pain to get out as i had to drop drivers side of the dash and then remove the resistor from the top of the blower motor housing(not a good design for such a simple item) going to put it in today and hope i never need another.
