hei conversion help

so ive done research but both sources say one thing and another in regards to using the standard vk coil when changing to HEI??? pretty confused, can you use it or not

VK is hei already, all V8's are. or is your car est? if its est you have to get a new coil MEC715 or a Hec715 the difference is male or female terminals.

the est coil would be a high energy coil (hec 716).

MEC coils will work but suffer weak spark, you need either HEC 716 or HEC 715 (High Energy Coil), one has the female post, the other has the male post for the coil lead.
