sle chrome
hi all,
just recieved my car back from panel shop after colour change FINALLY only took 4 months.
Just wondering if anyone can tell me how all the chrome trims are fitted and where i can
get new clips etc??

yer looks good it called royal plum is a european ford colour.
the chrome will look great when i can figure out how they all attached!

new clips can be found at rare spares. better call you bank and get a loan though. they add up.
windscreen clips from them cost me $1.50 each and there something like 20 per screen 40x1.5= 60 dollars!!!!

can't locate any of the rubber clips that pussh into body for c piller chrome strips to push into????

Rare spares DO sell them, I think they call them "plastic nuts" or some thing. Like ari666 has said, they sell them for around $1-2 each.
Do you have an old one you can measure, as there is a few different types/sizes of them.
They list them on their website, or used too not that long ago, I'll have a look later on see if i can find them again,
I just used some small diameter rubber hose cut into half inch lengths - pushed it into the body of the car then pushed the chrome strips into them carefully.
Its slightly dodgey but, on a nice respray like that I'd want the proper bits
Have you got the ones that attach the chrome to the bootlid and bonnet? Again, rare spares have them at a rediculous price.
Also the "headlight mounts" (little bits of plastic that the lights sit on) are in at Repco for about $10 for two.

Yeah I know, theres a few items that aren't listed under the particular models that they're from... ghey
You think with the amount they charge they could hire someone to go through all their parts and arrange them so its easier for us customers to find them
Hopefully they're it.
