Can't find VIN Number on VH.

I can't find the vin number on my VH . It's not stamped in the strut tower or the radiator support panel . Can i still get it rego'd ?????

its not stamped in the rad support, its on a little plate, and it will be on the strut tower %100. your not looking for a 17 digit VIN by the way. think the strut tower is only about 9 or 10 digits.

not sure about rego if you are missing the body plate...

VIN numbers only really started coming in around '89. I don't about where you are but in QLD they go off the chassis number which is a few less digits from memory.

mine is in my radiator support! not unusual for them to be there and if its ever been replaced it probably wasnt put back on. i had a vc with same problem and had to get surrotate number from the police.

This is as close to a VIN as you will get on a VH. On the front by the bonnet catch.

^^yep that's where they are supposed to be.
they are a 'chassis number' on a VH, VINs weren't around back then.

but as mentioned, if the car has ever been in a front ender, usually the plate gets destroyed or lost.
Not one of Holden's smarter ideas....

My VH has the VIN/Chassis number stamped into the radiator support... :/ And I also have that little tag near it aswell ?

Sorry guys . i meant the chassis number . used to newer cars . I did end up finding it on the radiator support after taking off a lot of my paint . Got a permit for it today to get rego'd on Monday . Can't wait for the open road

No mine is stamped in and no tag just the 2 compliance plates behind drivers side strut tower and i can guarantee mine has never been in a front ender either.

(You can see where the front little tag would go, I have taken it off to do the body work and polish up the tags aswell).

hi is the chassis number on the tag near the bonet latch the one you can put on the transfer paper to sell my car or do i use the one of the id tag in other words what one is me3nt to be on the on the rego papers

Yous the chassis number. It's either on the radiator support if the car is 82 or early 83. Mid 83 onwards they stamped the chassis on the passenger strut tower.
