Default vk 202 carby to 308 wiring

    hey guys,

Ive done a seach with no such luck. (could be my computing skills)

Im looking at(pretty much going to) rip out my carby 202 black motor and replace it with a red 308. My question is Can I use the current 202 engine loom? possibly with slight modification?

if its a carby 308 going in and your not shy about joining and redirecting a few wires i think you could, it wouldn't be too hard, if its an injected motor it would be easier to use a loom for the motor, i helped a mate of mine change his 202 hx ute to a 308 red motor we used the loom from the 202 with a few dodgie joins his loom was ordinary to start with so we did a couple of extra joins. tape them up and hide them tie the loom back to all of its tie on points don't leave wires hanging over exhaust normal common sense try

thats what i figured. going from carby 202 to carby 308 there shouldnt be too much off a difference in the loom other then the length of certain wires.

It's pretty easy, just takes a bit of time...well only coz I made a new loom. We bought a VH which had no engine loom in it. It had been unplugged and removed from the connector near the brake booster. I snipped the connector off, replaced the connector with some Narva ones (so I had the opposite side of the connector to plug into) then used a wiring diagram and a test light to find wat wire was wat, and just made a whole new engine loom. Took about 2 hrs, also had to run new cables from the battery to the starter, and from the alternator to the starter, the whole lot. Just work on one wire at a time and work ya way through it.
