Hi guys, really wanna get my heater going.. no air comes throught the vents, but I can feel the heat coming from behind the stereo..
Think the vacume hoses arn't connected to valve properly. Anyone had any experience with this? Is the diagram on scotts website the clearest?
Cheers for any input, It gets bloody cold in the hills!
well make sure the vacuum line from the engine is working properley. should suck your finger on nice and tight when the engine is running, the also make sure its on the correct port. there are numbers on each one on little stickers, but they tend to fall off, so the rule that i use is: the fat one goes on the fat port, all the thinner ones go on the thinner ports, use numbers if you can, if not... guess... all it will do is change which setting is which, so demist may become floor, then redo it if they are wrong.
also what i did recently is cut about 10mm off the tips of the hoses with a sharp razor blade and reconnected them. it makes them nice and tight again.
Ok mate I will have to have a closer look.
Is there any trick to getting the (temp changer) and setting changer, out? This is what I haved failed to do on one attempt. thought it just slid out, but I cannot see any screws which will allow it to come out?
yeah, the cable is a pain in the bum. if you can get the console out and the bottom-side cover, you will be able to get to the phillips screw on the heater, loosen that screw off, dont undo it completely cos its a right little f..ker to get back on, once its loose you can pop the outer of the cable off, then the inner of the cable has a 'O' on the end that slides off the heater selector. once you take that off the whole assembly will come out heaps further than what it did before allowing you much better access to the hoses.
the other thing i thought of is: there is a little filter on the main vacuum line, check that that isnt blocked.
There is a post on here with a diagram of where all the hoses go to
When I removed mine once i extended them as there was not much to play with and everything works fine.
