    Default VK valuation help

Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Hoping someone might be kind enough to point me in the right direction for valuation of a VK my dad is looking to sell. It is a bit of a strange one so I don't really know where to start.

The compliance plate shows VK model, build date 10/85.

It started life as a police car then was purchased at auction and completely rebuilt as the "hot laps" car for Surfers Paradise International Raceway by Amaroo car builder Bob Stevens.

V8 5L engine completely rebuilt balanced and blueprinted with 10:1 compression ratio. 4 speed manual transmission. Fitted with 4 race seats, 4-point harnesses and full custom made aluminium roll cage.

Not used at Surfers Paradise International Raceway due to premature sale of raceway and then used sparingly as road registered tow car for an open wheel race car.

Registered to April 2011, 66k km and unused for last 3 years.

    Any ideas?

Sorry but honestly its not a HDT or anything special except to the owner. Its value would be close to a mopdified ex persuit car. Probably worth more in parts than as a complete car I would try for around $7,000, $8,000 mark you may get more it depends what its worth to the buyer, see how you go.

Copies of HDT cars, good replicas tend to go for approx 1/2 what a genuine item is worth so if a a group III would be worth 15-20k, being your car is something different I would probably advertise on
    Ebay or Unique cars.

if your in no hurry to sell it start it high say $12k and start dropping till you get bites or offers.

    cheers
    Scott
