VH Commodore Sender fuel issues or gauge????

Hey Guys I'm having trouble with my VH commodore SL 2.85ltr I fill it up when showing empty it only takes 33 litres of petrol before it overfills it's a 63 litre tank had numerous mechanics look at it I think it's the fuel sender they said it's the gauge and see a auto elec, anyone with the same issue and anyone selling a fuel sender for a VH? that works can't find them at Rare Spares,Holden dealers or second hand/reco or new

Sounds like the fuel sender in the tank to me. I'm surprised you have been unable to find one at a wreckers or even ebay where I have seen them before.

yeah the fuel senders can snap in the middle, which means only half the range will show on your guage. wreckers will have em' used and ugly but working. there isnt much to them. just a variable resistor.

my vb same issue, fill up full tank, over flows but i know it's empty still, only shows up half tank. wreckers it is.
