    One way to find out.

But I don't think it will. I've a funny feeling it will read less RPM then what it is actually doing.

I'm curious, I thought they would be the same. Can you help me understand how they are different?

    Cheers

The way to tell them apart is that a VH V8 tacho redlines a 5000rpm, the 6 cylinder redlines at 5500rpm.

Yeah, looking at the pic it would be about 5800rpm redline for the 6 cylinder version, 253ci is 4.2 litre so that should be a V8 one with the 5000rpm redline.

    This is a V8 one:

mint vh sl/e ,sle dash 247, on clock ,vb vc - eBay Dash Parts, Interior, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 04-Aug-10 22:54:57 AEST)

This is a 6 cylinder one:

Commodore VH SLE Tacho Cluster SL/E - eBay, Other, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 11-Aug-10 09:50:26 AEST)

    Cheers
