    Cheap as chips wtf?

    350 holley - $150 ebay special + rebuild kit - $60
Redline torquer 2 manifold to suit 12 port head -$250.

    Webber - Your first born...

In no way are the webbers cheaper, Tripple webbers are also hard to setup.

The holley is straight forward and works as well as anything. That said anything is an improvement on the varajet. (Failjet.)

Ah, beg my pardon. Didn't even give that a thought, I immediatly though off the tripple carb setup. (Which is spastic for a daily.)

Still I'd go the Holley for simplicity and easier to modify for cam's and such.

i would put a cam in first, or at least a decent set of extractors... in fact, i would probably change the spark plugs and leads first

hey yer iv got some new plugs n performance leads coming this week so ill see how it goes soon them im thinking of changing both carb and exhaust at the same time because of the (failjet) lol carb it has the return holes from the exhaust manifold. Will it run ok if i run a diff carb with stock headers on it or do i have to put a cover plate on the stock header exhaust holes (that go to the bottom of the failjet carb)

seriously. there is no 'bang for your buck' mod that works better than a good exhaust system IMO. its the first place i always start. other people have been saying that a carb will give you more power, which is not a lie, but also not completely true.

your engine will perform better when it is able to get more fuel in and out in a clean burn. and it will only work as well as its weakest component. if you have a trick holley carb, and crappy spark plugs, itll run as well as the crappy plugs will let it. if you have a blower and a crappy exhaust, your engine will still only run as well as the exhaust will let it. and so on.

just changing the carby will give you a good placebo buzz, but it wont really do bugger all else till you start assembling components that suit what power you are going for.
