Sounds like you've dropped a valve.

Check for oil in your radiator for to see if your head gasket is gone.

    Rebuild time....

Smoke coming out the rocker cover is normal to a certain extent, what colour smoke? there will normally be a minor amount of white smoke come out, this smoke is caused by blow by - basically compression/combustion gases escaping into the crankcase past the rings, when rings are excessively worn or maybe in your case damaged you will get lots of blow by/smoke.
But anyway i would say time for a rebuild, or drop in another engine. You could consider a V6 conversion or something like that as it may even be cheaper then rebuilding your current engine depending on the going rate fro Black motor parts ATM.

yes there is oil pressure but the needle moves around a bit with the revs no oil in the water no water in the oil no water loss the amount of smoke coming outa the rocker cover is noticable its white and blueish is running on all six cylnders even idls well as for the starting prob acts like the battery is flat but after 2 or more atmpts it fires like normal was told the windings in the electtronic dizzy could be at foult could this be it

Is it an EFI 6cyl or a carbie? if its carbie and its original it will have nothing in the dizzy. With the Blue smoke coming through the rocker cover i would suggest it has scored the cylinders and stuffed the rings because thats normally what you see in with extremely bad blow by.
Do a compression test and inspect your sparkplugs for fouling, does it blow any smoke out the tail pipe? Or make any ticking noises ect?

The rings are gone. When a motor gets too hot the pistons expand enough to seize into the bore walls and the rings will loose their tension. If you are lucky you might get away with a hone and new rings. If it got really hot it will need a rebore and new pistons and rings. Its a good idea to replace the big end bearings when you have the engine apart. They arent very expensive.

NFI, neither did anybody at work. Nothing in the cylinder when i took the head off, bore was unscratched/marked, nothing in the sump either. It's a fkn mystery.

if you look closely at the impression you can see a little X inside each circle. ill bet a phillips screw was in there at some stage. you can see it getting squished each time cos the X gets larger and larger

How does a phillips head screw get into a cylinder?

Could be one of those ones with a swapable end and the little end peice fell down when tightening the carbie screws with the air cleaner off.
