    hey pepz
i found a vl that i mite be able to get ahold of not sure yet but im either thinking of doing the rb30 conversion or just selling it off again without a few bits not sure yet
dose anyone know what it would take in swapping all the vl motor and trans and shit like that
what els do i have to change besides k frame and loom?
with the loom is it just the engine one?

K frame, engine, loom, ecu, gearbox, gearbox Xmember, tailshaft. The diff might need to be changed as well...

    Easier to use a V8.

I think this is thread # 999,873 on an engine conversion topic, search the forum and oyu will see a number of results.

If I was doing this conversion I woulddrop the whole front end out of the VL into the VH, K frame, suspension ,brakes gearbox, diff the lot. There will be loads of little things such as adapting aircon, heater, trans top plate on the tunnel.

    cheers

as long as its auto it will fit dont even try if its manual as ya cant have the gearbox crossmember is different, as they changed the floorpan on the vl to accommodate the gearbox, other then that it all go's in like what vkberlina says swap the lot

Mate I have done this and other conversions. We converted my sons VH to a RB30 manual. There are a lot of things that need to be changed and alot of things that you might not even consider and it is time consuming. The good thing is that you can go turbo down the track. You need to move the battery to the other side of the bay. Relocate washer bottles and overflow bottle. We used a VH V8 radiator landcruser top hose and a mitshubisi bottom hose. Use a VL K frame, rack and lower half of the steering column. Relocate charcoal canister. Fit air box and piping. Fit VL fuel tank fuel pump and filter and return fuel line. We used a CRS crossmember and turbo 400 mount. Use the vl diff and tail shaft. We transfered the discs off the VH diff to the VL drum brake diff. We used the complete VL Loom and rewired the entire car. A lot of the connections to the light etc are different so had to swap the connectors over. Need a custom exhaust. Not much room for a cat. We rebuilt all the mechanicals as we went. It is registered on the road. There are plenty of threads on this.
