Sorry, double post!!
when i pulled them apart i wet sanded the plastic with 800 grit sandpaper
then i used a air blower to make the chrome that was already there flake off so it was bare metal on the chrome/metal pieces
then i went and got some chrome from repco (VHT *plate finish* spray can). Before i put the chrome down i put a undercoat then wet sanded it with 800 grit
then after sanding the metal i added a gloss black to the metal then let that dry then i layed down light cotes of chrome then i put one last thick layer and that was final finish
(witch is what you see in photo)
with the plastic pieces i put them in undercoat and wet sanded with 800 grit till it was smooth then i painted silver (with no clear)
i also waited about 10 - 20 mins for chrome to dry inbetween each coat
and also i was using a proper spray gun for the undercoat and black gloss and silver but the chrome i used a spray can
good job but you should've got the reflector re-plated rather then using 'chrome' paint. They'll work better and less glare for other road users.
yer im wating to get my other set headlights
