Am running a B&M Megashifter in my VK
The gearbox is a built up Trimatic out of a HQ (so selectors on the RHS) have done the loop around the trans and connected the cable to shifter and selector on trans but the shifts are very stiff
any ideas as to where iv gone wrong would be greatly appreciated
I'm using the same gearbox in my VK, and using a B&M quicksilver ratchet shifter. Had it mocked up b4 it went in the car and it seemed like the changes were a bit stiff....was hoping when it was hooked up again in the car with the shifter mounted properly it would be ok, as I was selecting gears with the shifter sitting on my lap. Also could of been coz the box hasn't got any oil in it, so am hoping the shifts are easier when the box is filled up with oil and the motor running.
Let me know how ya go. I'll let ya know how mine feels when it's in, running and selecting gears.

ok yeah that may be it coz i put the dipstick for the trans back in last wk and it seemed to be running fairly lean on trans fluid.. so il drop the fluid fill it up again and see how that goes
cheers man
loop is to tight or where it goes through the floor is to much of an angle. i had same problem in my vb but it does loosen up after a while.

Im having an issue with my B&M on my Trimatic, PS Bracket. Loop looks to be fine where it goes out of the cabin and it shifts fine when the swivel isnt on the gearbox, but as soon as the swivel is attached, it binds and wont budge, but if i tap the bracket on the gearbox to give it a helping hand while somebody else shifts it will shift ok, just seems to need a helping hand. I've rigged up a new bracket, so hopefully that works by taking some of the odd angle out of the equation at the gearbox end.

yeah as above an awesome shiter wen the tricky bits are rectified, tried a new loop today and filed back the hole to the shifter in the tunnel to try a more symetrical angle hasnt really helped
Having same problem as u SABBATHSS wen its not connectd to trans its beautiful but soon as its connected it doenst wanna go!
il try DANNY8's advice tomoro and fill the trans up wit new oil see how that goes
We'l get it eventually haha![]()
Hey mate ive got the B&M megashifter fitted to my turbo 350 installed it all 2 weeks ago the shifter was tight when fitted to the box.The gearbox was just rebuilt with a stage 2 kit fitted and hooked it up was tight till i filled the box with oil and had it going the shifts then got smoother.HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!!!!
wicked thanks man
Just an update for Danny8, and whoever else is following this thread, car is now running and tuned and trans shift much easier once the car had bin idoling for a little while, same as what chrisso 82 pretty much said too
Oh yeah I forgot about this thread. Yeah ours has come good too. Rego'd the car Sunday night and done about 400k's with it so far and she seems fine.
Still need to adjust ours a bit tho. It's a fraction out. From 1st to 2nd is fine, but 2nd to Drive and it goes into neatral, but go back and it gets drive...so yeah it's not far out, will sort it out when we chuck it on a hoist next lol.
