Half cage for vb commodore

I am trying to purchase a half cage for my commodore. I have a set of RPM racing harnesses and bucket seats . I have been told to use the harnesses on road there has to be a half cage fitted with a support bar between the door pillars (maybe called TAXI bar)not sure?. Does anyone now the legalities to fitting one and where to purchase it from????????????

talk to an automotive engineer first I was advised I couldnt run my harnesses on the road and bought clip in ones instead.

as long as your seatbelt is adr approved its fine. i cant remember a 5 point harness being adr approved, but i think klippan may make on.

dunno where the roll cage info came from, considering it messes with your heads crash pad impact area and therefore isnt safe, so yeah. have a look at the tag of the harness and look for ADR 4 that will tell you if it passes strength tests then check out the regs for ADR5 (im guessing 00 but could be wrong) http://www.comlaw.gov.au/ComLaw/Legislation/LegislativeInstrumentCompilation1.nsf/0/2243BA578B88E424CA257257007DF259/$file/ADR500comp1FINALFRLI.pdf to make sure it fits the basic checks

Can't have the 'racing' style rotary buckle fitted either if it's for road use (needs to have standard seatbelt style clips)

Try this place Redline Racecars and Rollcages home page.Dont know legalities of using harnesses in road cars ,but I think you would be an idiot to use them without a rollcage.I,ve been in a roll over before and think being strapped tight up right with no movement sideways, proberly might have been a bad thing when the roof half collapsed.

Can't have race harnesses in Qld. Belts have to be inertia reel. I am just about to have my VC engineer approved with mod plate and one of the questions he asked was if I had race harnesses. If I did no compliance.

Thanks for you answers guys i might have to put the harnesses away but the chrome molley half cages look tough. I will get on to redline race cars and see what they say !!!!! Cheers for the advice!!!!!!!
